As a Junior Legal Counsel, you will assist widely in Sampo Group’s corporate, governance and compliance matters. You will, for example, maintain and develop group governance documentation, participate in insider administration, and follow relevant legislation. You will also take part in preparing board and AGM materials. In addition, you will handle data protection and IPR matters and contribute to training Sampo’s personnel. You will also collaborate with the legal teams of Sampo Group’s subsidiaries.

You will join the Sampo’s Legal Team consisting of four members, and you will report to the Chief Legal Officer. You will be based at Sampo’s newly renovated office in the heart of Helsinki.

You may be the person we’re looking for if you: 

🎓 have or will soon have a Master of Laws degree from a Finnish university (or a foreign degree recognised as comparable) and some relevant work experience, ideally from a law firm, listed company, or the finance sector;

📝 have experience working with corporate law issues;

💻 have a hands-on approach and a can-do attitude – no task is too small for you to handle;

🤝 are a driven team player and take pride in doing your work well; and 

🙌 have great communication skills and are fluent in both Finnish and English. Knowledge of Swedish is a plus.
