👉 We are now looking for several trainees to join Nokia Technologies’ Tech Legal and Licensing Excellence teams starting in the beginning of either April or September 2026. As a legal trainee, you will work part- to full-time, around 3-5 days a week, for a fixed term of 12 months. The position is based at Nokia Technologies’ headquarters in Karaportti, Espoo. However, hybrid work in accordance with Nokia Technologies’ hybrid work policy is possible.

🍯 As a legal trainee you will join either the Nokia Technologies’ Tech Legal team with approx. 10 professionals or the Licensing Excellence team with approx. 5 professionals - your work assignments will vary, depending on which team you are recruited to. In your day-to-day work, you will assist your team in various legal, licensing and contractual matters relating to, for example, non-disclosure agreements, different types of IP license agreements, assignments and transactions as well as working with contract management. In Tech Legal, you will assist legal professionals in matters relating to open-source software and Nokia’s patent portfolio management, and you will also have the chance to assist with consultancy, purchasing and R&D agreements. In Licensing Excellence, you will work as a junior negotiator in patent licensing negotiations and communicate with licensees regarding various contractual matters. You will also manage existing license and non-disclosure agreements in Nokia Technologies’ customer relationship management system, draft and amend agreements, as well as collect and analyze information from existing license agreements to support ongoing licensing negotiations and litigations.  
This position is a perfect fit for a law student with:
🔹 at least ~150 credits of completed legal studies
🔹 previous knowledge of and eagerness to learn more from IP-related matters and contract law in a global technology company - previous negotiation experience, for example, from legal or sales-related role(s) are considered as an advantage
🔹 a proactive approach to accomplishing tasks and the ability to learn quickly
🔹 a self-starter spirit, strong analytical skills, and a knack for developing creative solutions
🔹 strong communication and interpersonal skills – fluency in both written and oral English is required
